The History of Notts County Supporters Club
Founded in 1947, the Notts County Supporters Club has stood by the Magpies through every promotion, relegation, and triumph. We look back at nearly 80 years of unwavering support for the world's oldest Football League club.
The Notts County Supporters Club was founded in 1947, making it one of the longest-standing supporters clubs in English football. For nearly 80 years, the club has stood shoulder to shoulder with the Magpies through every promotion, relegation, cup run, and moment of triumph.
In the early years, the supporters club focused on organising travel to away fixtures at a time when getting to games was far more difficult than it is today. Coach trips were a lifeline for fans who wanted to follow the team on the road, and that tradition of organised away travel continues to this day.
Over the decades, the club has grown and evolved. Membership has fluctuated with the fortunes of Notts County FC itself — swelling during the glory years of the 1980s when the club competed in the top flight, and holding firm through the harder times that followed.
Today, the supporters club is as active as ever. With Notts County back in the Football League and building momentum, there has never been a better time to be a Magpie — and never a better time to be part of the supporters club that has been there through it all.
